Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2017. The department currently offers an undergraduate program; B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. The Department has requisite number of faculty members, striving to incorporate excellence in theory, practice and research. Undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at CBIT start with the innovative, which gives students a solid foundation in core disciplines like mechanics, manufacturing, and systems, together with essential areas of mathematics and physical sciences.
The laboratories in the department include Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machinery, Thermal Engineering, Heat Transfer, Metallurgy and Instrumentation, Workshop, Manufacturing Technology, Automation and Robotics, Machine Tools, Metrology etc., All these laboratories are well equipped to learn by doing. Continuous research is a norm in the department and the papers authored by faculty and students get published in leading national and international journals and are presented at several national/international conferences. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has congenial environment for study, supported by stimulating education and research. The programs offered by the department of Mechanical Engineering are intended to prepare students for successful careers and lifelong learning in Mechanical Engineering.
- To impart knowledge in ever-changing Mechanical Engineering to promote highly competent, innovative and ethical Mechanical professionals through excellence in teaching, training and research.
- To provide opportunities for students to work on the different kinds of hardware and software platforms prevalent in industry, with the objective of being responsive to industries’ needs, the programme goes beyond the curriculum prescribed by the University.
